Got them today. I was told I should really have 2 females. I don't think I have room for 2. So far the male has not hassled the female too much and I have lots of plants, so hopefully that will provide shelter.

i've posted on the gourami forum to see what they think. if it is a kissing gourami, it'll be going back. I don't have room and they do grow big. Which is why I chose the dwarf gourami.

My tank is 22 us gallons. have 5 cory metae, 3 guppies, 3 botia striata and the 2 gourami.

On second thoughts: I don't know lol

I'm 99% sure that your gourami is not a kissing gourami...looks like the same shape as the dwarf gourami, just doesn't have color, so I think thats a female. I've never seen a female before though.

I had a female dwarf, and they do have some color. They're just pale. Obviously it varies from fish to fish, but my female had a light blue, silverish tint to her...

Yours certainly does look like a young kissing gourami but it's hard to tell...can you get any other pics?

well in my opinion, she doesn't have the lips of a kissing gourami. I've had more people confirm that she's a dwarf gourami than not. She's not in the slightest bit pink in the flesh, I think the photo just has a red tinge to it. She's white/silvery colour.

edit:
She has feelers. Do the pink gourami have those? I can't see any in the pic you showed. but then I cant see them in the top pic either.
