Those tanks look great! Wow! I have actually been thinking about setting up a large wall in the bathroom with fish and turning the whole bathroom into a fish theme but I dont think my wall would be thick enough to get the fish the needed room.. Those tanks are stunning though!

Well befor long your be rolling in the money ;) so no problems

I've been thinking of going freelance for lake's, rivers and aquariums but scared to do something like that alone.
it's a big jump if you dont have the money to start off with.

HaHa I don't know about rolling in the money, although if this became a supportable business I would surely be impressed by myself :)

When you say lakes and rivers what do you mean?

I can say I've done a lot of work with pond's and have helped build and setup an extremely large waterfall and pond with a large amount of Japanese koi. These style ponds are increasing in popularity and I will have to remember to update my ad with those services as an option as well.

Any ideas as far as what are the best marketing tools to use and places to go about advertising? Like mentioned I don't want this to shoot of the ground before I have a chance to fully get the hang of the business but the increased business helps as well.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum but love fish and am just really getting started with the hobby. I have been searching all over for this kind of fish since I would like to see it's profile to know what kind of parameters I should be looking at. Needless to say I should've asked at my LFS but I will not be going back to that store anytime soon with their fish keeping practices.

Any help would be fantastic!

You have only been in the hobby since jan according to your 1st post you didnt even know what kind of tetra you had so how does that qualify you to sort out peoples tanks for them???? You need to have a vast and broad knowledge of all species and different setups or are you going to bluff it and when ever you get asked a question by a customer you will post it on here????

When posting that first post I believe it is probably misrepresented in this post... I have been fishkeeping for quite a while now and probably wrote that wrong in that post It should've been a little more like "I'm starting to really get back into the hobby"... You can try and discredit me and my experience if you feel and deem necessary.... You have the right to do that.

I don't claim to know everything about fish, nor will I ever. I don't think any potential or current clients will expect me to either. Yes you better believe if there's something I don't know I will check online and get a definite answer, I don't see anything wrong with that. I have built up my knowledge on species care and knowledge of different setups in freshwater as well as saltwater (While I don't show a current tank setup)

I can assure you that I will never get myself in over my head or "Bluff it" on something I don't know.. That's an issue of integrity more than anything.

But every tank you have set up you have needed to ask questions which isnt wrong now im not discrediting your knowledge im just saying that I do not personally think you know enough to start up and make a living from a business people will hold you responsible when things go wrong.

I am not trying to make a living on this at this point. I mentioned that I will pick and choose the different setups and clients from the beginning as I gain even more knowledge of how things will be done. I have asked questions to better my knowledge and I haven't asked questions about every setup I have, I have asked questions on cichlids (can't lie I didn't know a whole lot :) But I have various other tanks and things I've setup beyond what you see in the sig.

I can see where you're coming from and I agree their are still things I need to learn but I feel I have all of the tools needed to get this thing rolling so to speak.

To base someone's knowledge on a few posts or threads seems kind of silly as one cannot step into another shoes and see what they do or do not know.

I'm not offended at all by your posts Mark ;)

I been keeping fish since i was 8 years old, at school i when to a Trout farm and then worked 10 years on farms and doing maintenance on lakes and rivers, as well as studying fish farming at college for 2 years.

Now been doing tropical maintenance for 3 years, but i would love to be woking in and around lakes and rivers, that's why i would love to be doing it again.
