My New Betta

Yeah it may be the case... I just thought it may take a little bit of time for him to adjust tocompletley different conditions.
my suggestion-
regardless of stats when you get home do a nice waterchange and just wait. he is probably just sulking. bettas are prone to it. can take up to 2 weeks for them to come around.
just keep an eye out that no one is harassing anyone else in the tank. while ive never had a problem with it, some folks swear neons and bettas are a bad combo as the neons nip their fins (ive never had this happen tho). just something to keep in mind.
cheers!

Yeah I was thinking of maybe doing another water change, but I didn't want to disrupte him anymore than I had to.

Think I'll do one tonight and then another one on my usualy water change day :)

2 weeks wow, he is deffo a girl

Thanks for the help :)

I've just got my bf to pop some ocean salt and stress coat into the tank :)

salt is not good for the tetras...so that waterchange is definitely necessary tonight.
in the future should you need to use salt for the betta-use it as a bath in a separate container/tank.
cheers

Oopps.... I will get him to do a water change straight away EEK

Luckly I only got him to pop 3 small little pellets of it in, as I don't like using it much.

there really is no reason to use salt now if no signs of any illness. likely he/she is just sulky. is she eating at all. sometimes they go off food too when they sulk. just make sure she gets the chance if shes hungry with those faster tetras in there.
cheers

.....

Well I have been noticing that by the time he/she realises that I have put food in the tetras etc h have gobbled it up.... so I try and drop some near he/she when she comes up.

i suggest feed the tetras and harlequins first. then feed the betta in a particular spot. always feed her in the same spot..she will realize where to go to get food at feeding time.
best of luck!

Just done another water check...

pH - 7.6
High range pH - 7.4
Ammonia - 0
No2 - 0
No2 - 0 - 5.0

stats are great! prob just settling in. just please keep an eye out for harassment. also make sure she is getting food. bettas dont need much food really (their tummies are only as big as their eye- a few pellets a day or 3-4 bloodworms/day will suffice. smaller meals are better than one large one (bettas are prone to digestive disorders like constipation/swimbladder disorder from overfeeding).
keep us updated.
cheers :)

Well I decided last night to take out the plants in the tank, as they were floating all over and a few of them were dying. I also did a full tank spring clean and she/he seems to be springing into life.
However I forgot that I have an Odessa Barb in my tank too.... he is a friendly guy, but I don't think him and Rosie are going to get along

Whooooooo she eat last night :good: But she really doesn't like my Odessa Barb :sly:

odessa barbs can be mean! =[

I had a few with my angels and they pestered them!

It possible that the barb has been irritating her, or maybe even bulling her?

But at least shes on the right track :D

:( Well last night she attacked and killed one of my pygmy cories I have had for ages right in front of my eyes

sounds like time to get her her own tank...or rehome her unfortunately.
cheers
