So my 55 Gal is cycling like Bradly Wiggins, time to check what im planning on stocking.
(My first tank as a member here (3rd tank in life), so will get it spot on this time)

The tank currently:
Temp 25C (other water parameters are within what the range of fish require but am at work and cant remember)
assortment of live plants (8 currently but will be more)
3 Pieces of Bogwood
1/3 Sand substrate
2/3 2cm Aquarium soil (cant remember the brand) and 4cm of black gravel (med-small)
2x 18W T8 2' (jewel day-light and warm-light)
2x LED Light bars (1x 2' white LED 1x 8" blue LED)
Air pump/stone
Fluval 3+ (possibly with a spray bar depending on how the fish like the underwater hurricane)

The plan:

4x Clown loach (will have to acquire a bigger tank in the future which is the plan)
6-8 Cardinal Tetra's (possibly more if its not overstocked/you change my mind on any of the below)
1x Gold Nugget Pleco
2x Angel Fish
3x Silver Shark
4x Bumblebee/Blue Shrimp
4x Cory's (this is the fish im least sure about)
(my missus wants a neon red gourami as well but im not too sure...)

Will Cory's and Clown loaches get on okay? If not would some Pictus Catfish be compatible with the loaches

I would really cross both the clown loach and silver sharks off your list. Get them when you get the big tank.

Get more cories and cardinal tetras :good:

Ah okay howcome lose the Sharks?

Might be a good idea

+1

Clown basically are better in a tank from 6ft long upwards and need at least 6+.

Bala Sharks best in groups of 5+ and again, your tank is too small, they would probably eat your small fish as well......

Corys are great and a big school or cardinals is cool to watch.

Forgot to mention, Angel Fish might also eat your tetras.....

Right ok, glad i've asked this question! More more more :D

Because they can get to 14" and are very active?!

Don't forget that most of the fish you're talking about live in shoals of hundreds, or even thousands, in the wild; they really will act much more naturally and look much more impressive in larger numbers of a few species rather than fewer of many.

Pimelodius Pictus are carnivorous, predatory fish. Many years ago I bought two and put them in with some adult tetra's (can't remember which species) and lost most of them over the course of a week. I didn't know much about fish then but I knew then I had to get rid of the Pictus. Nice lookers but make sure everything else in the tank is big.

Right, noted! Will change my stocking ideas now then. Thanks guys
