hey there wow i think that is an awesome idea..in fact i was so inspired i went out today and got myself a blue roplight!!

the problem si tho.. aren't you afraid the plastic on the ropelight will melt if exposed to the regular tank light for so long? i know my tank light bulbs get REALLy hot... i can ese it melting hte plastic

My light tube is basically resting on the plastic evaporation tray, and so far it's not even mildly warped yet, never mind melted.

I know some types of lights do run quite toasty tho!
