Some obligatory pics of my fry that we found in our tank about 2 weeks ago (really unsure of how long they had been in the tank before we found them) and I think both females look due again - 1 definately the other not so sure!

The fry I would guess are getting on for 1cm long :) Both look loke females at the mo but is it too soon to be sure of their gender?

Think this 1 is very due??

Not sure how far along this one is but she keeps corner dwelling & the other female is chasing her all over the place - couldn't get a better pic than this with how she's being chased around & harassed.

All clicky pics.

Your fry look older than 2 weeks to me. They do hide well when first dropped though. This is my fry, with mom, at 24 days after a drop. At that age all look like females. It can take 2 months or more to be able to distinguish a male from his sister.

To me the female that you marked as very far along is maybe a week or more from her next drop. The other female is even further off, as you have surmised.

They are adorable, and very dark all my Molly fry are white 3 of them have the black spots now ( born March 15th) and 1 is still to produce a spot. It amazes me to see the pics on here of the fry and just how different they can be. Love watching mine grow up and changing colour.

Thanks all, they will have freedom of the tank very soon, just wanted to be sure my Japanese fighter couldn't eat them, he's a right bully lol!

Quick update - Mum is still VERY fat and squaring off well now & the 2 fry are in our 2nd tank on their own at the mo and thriving so far :) The lighter one has gone very silvery & the black one is showing signs of some fabulous markings!

So thrilled with all of this :)
