I got the tank from my girlfriend it'd been sat in the garage for years covered in mud, cobwebs and god knows what else. It has no lid, no expensive lighting, not even a background. But i'm a student..there's only so much i can afford 
I've gaffer taped a condensation tray as a lid to stop my apple snail escaping!

Apple snail which seems to have burrowed in the past half an hour
I have two 11w lights and i've just started dosing with ferts today, so any idea's and suggestions for plants would be welcome.
There's some java moss growing on the other side of that driftwood tied down by blue string which you can see on some pics if you look close enough, it's growing very very slow but it's not die'ing.
