How cool are these fish?

I they prefer softer water i believe and my water is hardish so i hope they do ok, i spent over an hour adjusting them to the tank water bit by bit and they are doing ok so far and eating bloodworms, got them from wharf aquatics on tuesday.

They are in a 5.5 gallon quarantine tank for a few days and then im gunna put them in the main tank with the cardinals and cories and such.

.... not to be a downer, but hard/soft is the most importaint thing next to healthy water with them...

mine died thank to my water being too high of ph....

Actually cockatoos do fine in hard water and even breed no problem.Just as long as you acclimatise them slowly they should be fine.

that's good news. I guess my trifescata's were just too diff.

Yes i picked apistogramma cacatuoides because i read it was the most adaptable to to harder water, they seem fine so but, the male is chasing the female alot but thats because they are only in a 5.5 gallon quarantine tank, they seem very healthy so i am about to move them into my 29 gallon, the ph is slightly different in my main tank as my co2 needs to be changed today so im going to bag them up again and adjust them to that water for a while before releasing them.

Well they are a vary good looking pair, got them from wharf aquatics and the nice lady got me a lovely male and female, they seem to be doing ok, just managed to catch the male and now hes in a bag adjusting to the water of my 29 gallon, before i caught him he was engaging in alot of courthship with the female in the quarantine tank and she was turning on her side and such and they were displaying to each other so they seem pretty happy. One thing is that they arent too fond of dried foods so its been bloodworm so far.

theres a fake root to hide under plus my bn made a cave under my bogwood and between a peice of slate but doesnt go in it any more as its too big, plus theres plenty of plants in there, i dont really want to encourage them too breed as such as i will be going on holiday in a few months and will be leaving my neice in charge of my tanks and babies wouldnt help matters. If you mean just for the sake of hiding then theres enough places to hide in my tank and reckon but if not i will get some coconut caves.
