male always chases female whenever she goes close to himor trys to impress him but today he chassed her and she impressed him by doing her little curved dance and then to my supprise the male done a hakey shivery dance thing. what does this mean. thanks

it means they are breeding, hope you have plenty of hidey places, for them to choose from, and give them high protine food, mine have had 4 times in 5 month, good luck,,kenny

hehe, this is their little courtship dance. A coconut cave is a favourite to spawn in, they will go inside and the girl will release eggs with the male right behind her to fertilise them. They move the eggs to the roof of the cave and then she guards them for about a week until they hatch. Don't worry if you don't see much of her. Try to pop a little food by the entrance so she gets something to eat. When the fry are free swimming, both will become very protective - fear for any little fish such as neons as they may get killed if they stray too close. Fascinating behaviour to watch, though - kribs are great parents!

o yes i have got pleanty of caves i have a brick what i hammered to make a little arc which seems to be the males favorate i have a square black small plant pot with 2 entrances and a liottle ornament cave in there. the female is just swimming around minding her own. she is only small but she is ready becauseher belly goes dark red/purple when she goes by him and her bottom 2 fins come out aswel. nothing must have happened yet. do you think it will take long for them to lay eggs.
thanks
