Ok. I have a female guppy (Delta) who gave birth to fry on Dec 29th.
Well on the Jan 20th she stopped eating and started to show signs that she was about to give birth again. Pretruding Hole, Not Eating, trying to get air, boxed belly, dark gravid spot, and floating around the heater.
So what I did was put her into a fry basket/net for an hour so I could finish doing a water change on the 10gal and getting up to temperture. After that I put her in with her fry of 3 1/2 weeks.
On the 21st she still refused to eat, but her gravid spot was not as dark. I checked the tank to see if she had any, but didn't see any new ones. (I have tons of plants for them to hide so they must be hiding)
Today the 22nd. She still acts (not eating and hanging by heater) and looks pregnant (boxed belly), but her gravid spot almost looks pink not the dark color like a couple days ago. She still is dark in a couple of areas on the side, but not the back near the hole. She hasn't thinned out either.

Could she be holding back or aborted?

My guppy had the similar thing of gravid going like a pinky/bloody red near the time she was due! Can't tell you much as to why, but she still gave birth to 20+ fry a few days later :)

Here is what she looked like on the 17th. She had a very dark gravid spot though on the 20th

Yea looks like she is about to go anytime soon :D

She has that pretruding hole again...but looks like the babies shifted in her stomach. Probably why I can't see the gravid spot anymore, but I can see it real dark on both sides of her stomach. Also if you look in the first pic, she looks like she has a big chest, but in the last few, it kinda flattens

she is pregnant for sure, sometimes you cant see the spot, just keep her in the breeding tank, raise the temperature, turn off the light sometimes it helps, maybe is the strees...good luck

Yea and still waiting patiently lol :D . The gravid spot came back today and she looks less stressed. I think the move to the other tank got her. Last time it never did that...but like us women every pregnacy is diffrent..lol.

Oh the towel fell in the back. That was keeping everthing dark.

She looks like she is going to have much more than last batch since she looks bigger. Last one was 20.

The earliest you should expect any fry would be the 26th of January. She may start acting funny before that but will be unlikely to deliver viable fry before that.

Thankyou! =)

It's been awhile since I had bred guppies. Used to be I come home from work and there would be a few in the tank..lol. Now since no work..I am looking like many times a day like an anixious grandma.
