Hi everyone, at the moment I have a tank of rummynose tetras and 1 guppy. The guppy has been getting along really well with the guppy and they usually stick together. I have started to notice my guppy will go a little farther away from the tetras every so often he kind of flips about slightly on the gravel. It is not excessive, I just noticed him twitching about a couple of times. Please help me, I don't know what this is or if it's serious or not.

Thanks in advance :)

it might be sick can you post a pic of it and a video of it doing it

Is the guppy twitching while swimming mid water, or does it seem to be 'scratching' itself on the gravel?

How often would you estimate it's doing it?

Oh, have you tested the water at all, and what's your pH and hardness like?

If it's very infrequent, he could just have been scratching; fish get the occasional itch the same as we do!

However, if it's doing it very often, for a few days in a row, it could be the first sign of some other issue; usually either whitespot/ich or parasites, so keep a close eye on it.

Most definitely watch them.  I didn't know the signs until it was too late, my fish had a type of worm.  Lost about half,  if it continues take out any fish that are scratching.  Look for anything on them that shouldn't be there.
