usually when a fish gives birth to 60 / 70 babies it means that they are quite old and experianced enough to have large spawns.
so she may have just died of old age. i have several guppies of all ages what i have noticed that the younger guppies finish their ovualtion by releasing their eggs. I have also noticed that i have two infertile guppy females. and they just dont get pregnant they just abort release thir eggs.
I have had several younger guppies give birth to very small fry, about half the size of the normal spawning.
Medium to larger guppies chuck out decent size fry. but the older ones give out around 40-70 larger fry. its amazing.
I have three do thisin one day.
but i have had one die just after giving birth and i think it was that some of the fry got stuck and she just died.
