My Guppies!

Ouch...

Deffinately not! Absolutely no way do fish only grow to the size tank they are in.
That's called stunting BTW.
What happens is that the fish stops growing on the outside but its internal organs do not - they grow and grow until they have out-grown the body and then they are crushed against each other. Slow, painful death is the result.
Nice huh? (sarcasm) That's deffinately something you don't want for your fish!

all males = bad news = fin rot = fin nipping = death!!!
I'm sorry but thats the biggest pile of rubbish I ever seen.

I have had guppies for a vey very long time, I once had 9 all males in my 15g and they never ever had a fight.

to ohfeeshy

The only prob I have had is with putting a betta in with them.

your guppies will be fine, no need to add females at all, to be honest this will more than likely make them fight. If you do get a bully, get a breeding trap, and seperate the offending male over night. did the trick ofr one of my males.

I just started to get back into guppies, aquired 3 male's and 3 females today, to go with the 2 females i got yesterday, and a suviver from the last lot i had.

There'll be fine with the plattie's, you may see them mating with them but thats normal, and no babys will come of it. The loaches depending what they are, may be ok, but as I say it depends on what type they are. I say no to danio's there to zippy andand will proberly nip the guppies tails.

I thinks that all, if I forgotten anything just ask. :D
does anyone ever read I single thing I post.

ar well

Hmm.. in the coldwater section at one of the pet shops they had danio's... And platys. And, as I said, male guppies. They're the only fish kept in coldwater I've seen apart from goldies and cloud mountain minnows. I was just wondering, what I could keep with them because I don't like the minnows and goldies are out of the question. There's no point in me breeding, really, I don't know how happy the lfs's would be accepting baby guppies from a 13 year old!
EDIT- If there is any fin nipping, I can easily get another 11l tank and a small filter.

as i said before, i would definitely stay away from danios. is your current tank 11 liters? isn't 11 liters about 3 gallons? you would be pretty fully stocked with your 3 guppies alone, if that is the size of the tank...

thats why I was saying, does no one ever read my post's cos I said and I quote

No you can not have danio's, they need to be in groups of 4 and over, and 3g is way to small for one let alone 4, and in a small tank like yours there WILL be fin nipping. If you want them then your need about a 10g, but Wolf is the best to ask on danio's.

White clouds are wonderful little fish and can manage down to about 15*C, platties can only manage down to 20*C, and guppies 24*C, I've had cold water guppies, I converted them to tropical and they lifed through 2 cycle's, and died after being kept for 9 months, that longest time I ever own a guppie, apart from one I bred myself.

if you want more fish you need a larger tank.

Two of the guppies are dead. I think they might have had something before I got them, as the water tests are fine.

in a 15 gallon you'll be fine with no females but the smaller the gtank then you need the females cause the males will get very angry and fight being in such a small place with only each other to try and mate with, with gup's you defo need a heater in there
