i have a pearl gourami in my community tank, added about a month ago. for the last 2 weeks or so he just hides in the top right corner of my tank where its darker, only comes out rarely for food. all my water parameters are normal and water changes have been carried out etc. what would cause this and what could i do to make him livelier and happier?!
tankmates are 3 black neon tetras, 4 guppies, 4 cory.
any recomendations or advice would be more than helpful, thanks!

i was just reading this actually, most info state alot about their shyness, i may look at buying another pearl soon, see if it helps

If you are going to get more, get at least two more females. Also, you may want to try planting your tank - especialy with floating plants - and reducing the filter current first. While you are at it, get at least 3 more black neons. These fish can get nippy if in small groups and one thing growing male pearls are susceptible to is such nipping because they are developing fin ray extensions.
