Just a bit of a grim update. I lost every single guppy a few days ago. Nitrites were 0, ammonia was 0, ph was blue-plenty oxygen in the water but every single one of them dropped like flies.
Pets at home were as baffled as I was. Tested everything twice- just in case-it was all spot on.
They couldn't figure it out so blamed it on the guppies. I came home and was just ready to throw the lot in the bin when I got a phonecall back from them and the manager told me I should have been given replacement fish and I could have any but not to get guppies again. Originally I always said if I went tropical I wanted dwarf gouramis but fell for the guppies appearance.
I brought home 2 gouramis which are labelled as "honey gouramis" but when I put it up on another forum I was quickly corrected because they are not honey gouramis but indeed a hybrid
I explained that when googled "honey gourami" lots of different pics come up including ones of mine. So that must mean worldwide confusion if its all over the web.

They both have pointed dorsels and vibrant colour so will be males. I have been warned about males but once again all over the web there's different opinions. Just down to experience I believe.
Once I get my 60 litre tank up and running I will add some more of them OR I want an opaline gourami since they are my favourite.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Ok so the gourami are doing well and the water is staying stable. I found some amazon sword and this little tiny bush thing.
My new tank still isn't here yet  i'm getting impatient lol. Also going to get some sumatra driftwood as I just love the "eerie" effect it has. Can't wait to scape the new tank when it eventually arrives!
I also have a beautiful gold gourami male. He is about an inch and a half long-just slightly bigger than my red honeys which have grown and he's very laid back. Just ignores the 2 little ones zooming around  he is too interested in the plants. He is always busy in the plants! Eating and digging away.
Poor thing had nothing in his tank. He was the smallest and was in a tank with white, 3-spot, pearl and opaline gouramis. There must have been about 20 of them in there.
I chose him as he was the only one with dark fins and tail and tiger stripes. He was minding his own business, doing his own thing when the rest were chasing each other. He likes soft cabbage and sprouts. He is so docile he takes it from my hand-the other 2 just hide
He is a little shy when I drop an algae wafer in the honeys go straight to it, but he waits until they are away and then he eats it.
He will be named romeo since he has a heart shaped spot on one of his sides.
Here he is  The pics don't do him justice his colour is so vibrant.
