I know what you mean about goldies getting over looked and stuff

i for one prefer goldies to all fish. i find mine are so friendy and have very funny ways so always keep me amused.

Like i say, the substrate is reasonably controversial as far as goldfish substrate goes, but it looks brilliant and has been easy to maintain so far. It's a little difficult to see the dirt sometimes, but it's easy enough to vacuum up

Yeah it is caribsea! It took longer to clean than anything else I've ever had to clean before, but it's definitely worth it. It hasn't dulled at all over the time we've had it. Excellent (if expensive) stuff.

Also, our cave has been a great buy, the gastromyzon love playing in it, and getting chased out by the weather loaches!

Looking great, goldfish can be stunning, especially in a PROPER tank, none of this bowl/bi-orb rubbish just because they are "only" goldfish... Great to see them in a good sized tank obviously thriving. Liking the gravel also..
