Those two in the first pic are definately looking male Pip....best to get them out asap!! This happens so often with shop bought females and we've had a few in the past sneak in with groups of females we've bought.

they've both got ovi spots -- argh

Juvie males will often display ovispots especially when they are in with a group of girls.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not true!!

they just are ticking time bombs!!

males only ever have one thing on their mind!! food, sex, or fighting

they must just be getting used to the new territory, and the one looks a little scared of the other.

Good grief your group is IDENTICAL to mine!!! Right down to the pink girl and the top fish looking male. He looks EXACTLY like Bronson and the exact same thing happened. Bought him as a girl he was fine for months, I didn't notice as he was still growing, then one day...FLAAAARRREE. That was it I whipped him out into his own tank. I'd separate those if I were you. Just to be on the safe side.

As has already been said, the twins do look like boys, i had the same problem as honeythorn only 2 of my 'girls' turned out to be male plakats!! The girls look gorgeous, as for tail types ???? i don't even know what tail types half my girls are!!! x

i'm rehoming the 2 males - or return to lfs tomorrow cos i've only got room for my new doubletail half moon thats on order - i know its a shame but until i get my other tank set up i'm a bit buggered really

The lfs should take them back. Ours did when we had the males in our batch. I think we took one back, sold one and kept one in the end.

yup just phoned maidenhead and they said yep bring them back and they'll swap them for some more girls and give me some free betta food for my trouble

Am going to float the new girls in a breeding trap for a few hours to help the other girls get used to them :)
