Okay, so I have a solid green crowntail male betta that is about 6 moths old. I was waiting for him and his female to spawn (he was all ready, but she was still running) when I woke up one day and he was laying on the bottom looking very pale. He had horisontal stripes and some ripped fins. It almost looked like the female had beat the crud out of him. I put him in a tall, wide jar inside the tank so he could stay in 80 degree water. He looked a little better quite soon, but he still hangs out of the bottom allot and is constantly stressed out. He doesn't seem to be having any trouble swimming, but he doesn't very often. Do you have any clue what might have happened? He used to be so happy!:(

This is coming from someone who doesn't know anything about breeding Bettas, but if the female did that to him, he'd probably feel a lot better if she was out of the tank, and out of sight. She's probably buised his ego as well as his poor fins.

Okay, I had another 10 gallon tank set up and cycling getting ready for some of my other bettas. Kind of like a spa, you know? Well, I divided that into 3 parts and put him in one of them, so he wouldn't feel to overwhelmed by all the space. I hope he gets better soon so I can put other bettas in. I have 3 breeding bettas that I cherish and I want them to have the best of the best, lol!!!
