Hi,
Oh well my fisshie didn't make it. She succumbed to what I think was a nasty infection accompanied by internal bleeding. I'll post a pic later to see if someone can help me to identify cause of death so I can take precautions.

Right now my question is: should I keep medicating the tank in case the nasty bacteria are still there? should I stop medicating right away? and Should I do a waterchange? Clean gravel? if so how much?

Thanks for the info

Well, firstly, sorry about the fish.
Did you make any predict about the problems? Did you get help from the forums and came to some (even a temporary conclusion) if the treatment was suggested and you found symtoms (or even don't) on other fish, carry on.
However, manage to describe the infection or post up a picture, that shoulkd help...

Hi thanks for the response!
Yes, yesterday I posted my problem but nobody could tell for sure what was going on
Here's a pic...
Warning!! It's not pretty!!

Long story short: My female guppy was a survivor of columnaris from 8 months ago. She was left with a curved spine as a sequel but other than that she seemed happy, could swim ok and ate with the rest of the bunch. She had become bloated for the past 3 weeks or so. I didn't notice since it was so gradual. But 2 days ago she developed red marks/streaks on her belly where the gravid spot was supposed to be. I tried to treat with Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Furan-2 but yesterday it became quite clear that she had internal bleeding as well as dropsy and my efforts were pretty much useless. This morning I found her dead but also rests of what looked like fry in the floating maternity box in which I had placed her.

All the other fish look fine but I'm really hoping it's nothing contagious and maybe someone knows what happened from looking at the pic. Notice yucky red stuff coiming out.

For the record, I did my weekly waterchange on Sunday, ammo=0 ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrates -30ppm

Or poor thing, septicemia, did she have a red inflamed anus.

Damn stupid septicemia!
Yes poor little "Petunia". :-( It broke my heart since we went through so much with the nasty columnaris thing and witnessed how she put on quite a fight back then and miracleously recovered, but this was just too much for her system I guess. :rip:

She's look bad, no cure for septicemia once it has really progressed, and it had by that picture. R.I.P. sorry for your loss.
