Well i'v had this cherry barb for about 6 months now and everything has been fine,

nothing has really changed, accept i put in substrate which is really nothing. I noticed my cherry barb had been hiding all today under his rock that he likes, then i noticed he came out and he couldnt turn left, when he tried to his body looked like it went into a convultion or somthing his body went like...twitchy, he went back to go to his rock and he had to cirlce around a couple of times...

very odd, he's under hi rock right now and i dunno what to do really.

anyone hear of this?

Maybe he's got derek zoolander syndrome :D j/k no but ireally have never heard of anything like that. Sorry if it was tasteless i just couldn't resist.

Well I dont know why he cant turn right. Did you check the fins? If ones missing then the reason is that its holding itself up by one fin which is making him go one direction. They use fins to direct themselves and swim so maybe thats the reason... ;)

-Arrowhead :D

Anys signs of flicking and rubbing against objects, laboured breathing, red inflamed gills, any salt like grains of salt on them, any discolouration on there body or gills.

nope that's the strange thing he looks perfectly normal until he swims, now he's baicaly just idle in one spot , just waiting through the water.

nope no signs of ich, i'ts ilke he's paralyzed.. or somthing

and can only turn one way lol he's still alive so far

Signs of a fish twitching and looking uncomfortable in the water are signs of a parasite, any laboured breathing.

May be it's a Whirling Disease. I've heard about it among the cold water fish (trouts and salmons), but almost never in aquariums. May be you've got something new there. I tried googling and got this. See if it matches the symptom you're seeing.
