Hi every one,

I just want to start by say thanks to the Admin and site owner for the awsome site it's very helpfill and informitive so great job,

I am brand new to this aswome hobby, I bought my fist tank on Tuesday, and ran it in untill know, I Bought the Jebo R388 30L tank, I got my fish last night and they lvoe there new home, I have jsut run into a problem, it came with it's own filtration system, and the pump that pulls the water from the bottom of the tank throught a sloted cup is very strang, I bought some Neon tertras but they get sucket to the cup and stuck, I put a spoung into the cup to try and reduce the suction a lil but it only helped a lil so I had to turn off the filtration systems last night, I have an idea to buy another bag of gravel and pack it around the suction sup I am sure it will still be stong enough to pull the water throught the gravel but hopfilly not the NEon, if any one has ANY IDEAS please advice me, the fish that I currently put in are

8 Neon Tetras only 7 left
3 Albino Tetras
1 Albino red fin shark
2 Mollys
and a very small bottom feeder not sure of the name yet

I hope the pics come through I dont have pics with the fish in but I will post them soon

You may have got into fishkeeping without knowing enough to give them all they need.

Take a look at this great write up from Miss Wiggle.

Pay particular attention the the section about cycling which will help no end.

Welcome to TFF.

Hi Toshapetriji, thanks for the link, it's not that I rushed in it's more that I did not grasp the section power of the filtration systems.

It looks like the filter is actually attached to the tank,is it?You can't really leave your filter off as it is very important to build up the bacteria in it.
For the moment, you could cut the foot off a pair of ladies tights and slip it over the filter to stop anything else getting sucked in,then I'd see about getting a smaller filter,or have a look on the filter, most have a lever somewhere that allows you to reduce the flow.
Keep your filter running though, and once you have your new one, transfer the media (filter pads etc) from the old one into it,even if it means trimming them to size, this should avoid starting another ammonia spike.

Hey Goodygumdrops, thanks for the heads up, I want to the pet store that I bought the tank from, and the owner is running the same tank in the shop, She told me she had the same problem and she give me a lil G-clamp the I just tightened over this one clean pump the leads out the tank and it seems that it controls the flow some how I am not 100% sure how it works, I will try upload some pics. but it seems to have sorted out the problem
