my first spawn!!!!!!!!

They will starting to learn how to swim starting tomorrow or next day. :)
I just got one new batch that are A LOT hatching this morning. 500 plus??? I don't know because it seems like the whole eggs are fertilized. Someone must have cursing me and now I got that many. LOL :D

It just depends each male because they all different. Someone just pm me that his male didn't want or don't know how to pick up the eggs and he want to continue embrancing the female and squeezing the eggs. :p Basically the eggs will sink or got fungus. It is ok because you can suck them out. :D

how long can they live off ther yolk sac again cant wait to hear

This might interest you:

The eggs will hatch within 36 hours if the temperature is about 27 celcius. The fries live on yolk sac for another 2-3 days and after this they need to be fed immediately. The male has completed his duty and is the time to take him out gently with your hand. The step you should do immediately after taking the male out is to feed the fries. I said immediately because the fries of the first batch will be about 4 hours older than the fries of the last batch. The yolk sacs were gone and they need food right away. If you delayed the feeding for another 4-5 hours the first batch will be weaker and weaker until they can not move to get or catch food. They died several days later of straving. You then asking yourself why they died eventhough you have fed them regularly.

I fed my babies with hard boil eggs mixing with aged water, 3 times a day starting after the babies hatching for 2 days. I usually freeze the hard boil crumble pieces egg yolk so one egg is more than enough for one batch or two. When i need it, i just took out a small piece chunk and put it in a plastic sandwich beg and mixed it with aged water using a suction. Do not fed too much to the babies because you don't want the water get dirty so quick with uneaten egg yolk. Then the fungus and bacteria will growth fast. LOL Do suction water at the bottom everyday to take out uneaten food. I do add a mystery snail as a clean up tank for me.
I fed the babies with only hard boil egg yolk for a week. If I didn't make up any brine shrimp, I do fed them with egg yolk so it is very handy sometimes. In 7 days after the hatching of the babies, I introduce live hatching babies brine shrimp to the babies. It is depend the size of the babies too. If big, I introduce earlier like 5 or 6 day after the hatching of the babies.
I do leave the male in the tank for 10 days too so he did suck the brine shrimp too and eat it. The male will take good care for the babies and you don't have to worried so much. Yes, my method is totally different than anyone and it works all the time for me. :) I do feed the male too with his food after the baby hatch for two days. If he don't want to eat, take out the food. Do it again later or next day until he finally eats it. Then give him food like usual day. you will be amazing how he takecare the babies and the dead babies rate is very low. Don't worried if you saw him sucking up the babies in his mouth. He do feed the babies with his saliva too and also clean up the babies especially the fungus and bacteria on the babies body. Besides, it leave a saliva coding on the babies to protect the bacteria and the fungus growth on the babies. You will be amazing to take him out the 10 days and he is ready to breed happily again with any females. He just feels so proud with experience.:) I have try halfmoon and even giant plakat male too. All works.:)
All I can say is learn from your mistakes and that is how you become perfect each time. Sometimes reading a lot of stuff is good and also no good. I feels like read is better but sometimes using your head is the best. Sometimes it work and sometimes it is not work. Fixed it from there and do what is working for you. It just based on you how you raise it in your hand with patience.

ok ive heard alot about not over feeding with egg yolk but how much is enough i probly have 50 fry most still in the upright position boboing up and down from the nest can i feed them now and tell me more about how you mix your egg yolk

not to rush you but i would like the info as quick as possible
want to save lots o fry

I take some pictures tonight and post it here. You can see me how I mixed it. OK?:)

OK. This is how I mixed. Makesure those are aged water. Here is the frozen egg yolk that been crumble. Cumble the eggs before you frozen it.
This is all you need for feeding three time a day for your batch. Yes. Very tiny bit only. You can judge from my finger. There is a water dropper too for the aged water.

mixed 2 drops of aged water into the small crumble egg in the sandwich bag. Then smash with your finger tip until they blend it well.

Then add more aged water like three time full squeeze from the dropper. Mixed it well. Then you are ready to feed the babies.:)
