My First Planted Tank

I posted about my first attempt at a planted tank over a month ago. You can read the beginning of this tank as a planted tank and the conversion here .

So this is what it looks like as of now:

The plants have grown a TON and I am not completely happy with this right now...I haven't bought any new plants since I first planted it but I have been trimming the tops and replanting and the italian val has been sending out a LOT of runners, so there are at least 6 or 7 new sprouts...please any suggestions? any plants you think I should get? any plants you think I should move around or remove?

I will keep posting updates as time goes on

I would look for some Crypt Wendtii Brown to add some different aspects to the tank.

Other than that, just keep doing whatever you're doing, it's definately working!!!

thank you! I'm not really doing anything but i was wondering, do you think a plant carpet would look good in there (if so what kind), any more wood/rocks?

Lighting: T8 15W 10,000K
C02: none
Fertilizer: just the fluval planter substrate (this stuff) in the back for the rooting plants, but if necessary for certain plants you think I should put in, I will dose with liquid ferts or something.

If you have a nice piece of rock then place it in a few different places and see what you think. Not sure on a carpet, i have never done one and only stick with basic plants. lol.

okay! Do you see any plants/wood that you thin ki should move around in there? This is my experiment tank as I am setting up a 50 gal soon so I want this one to look as good as I can make it

If that is an anubias in the front left corner, it may be a good idea to move it onto the rock/wood behind it. You almost certainly know about keeping the rhizome above the gravel, but I do find that anubias roots better when it has something substantial to grab hold of. The transformation is pretty amazing .

Maybe turn the rock/wood thingy a bit so it shows a bit more from the front, and give your ech. ozelot a little more space to spread it's leaves? Couldn't agree more with Minnnt about the wendtii brown. It would help break up the green a bit and add a bit of depth.

fts??? and the store that i went to today didn't have any wendtii brown but they did have purple cabomba which looks amazing in my tank! It adds so much color! I also picked up some java fern and tied it into the crevis of the wood on the right. I will definately turn that wood a little bit to give that plant a little more room...the anubia's rhizome is above the sand it just doesn't look like it in the pics because the leaves are covering it in the view of the pic and also because I had just moved things around so a little sand had burried it a bit but then i uncovered it again...but I will definately think about tying it to the wood tomorrow! I will also post pictures of what the tank looks like after I added all the plants to it.

FTS is a Full Tank Shot.

The only other addition i would make is a branch of some sort so you can cover it in a moss of your choice. My personal prefference is Ferrei, weeping moss. Far superior to Java, but Christmas moss makes a good alternative if you can't find it.

alright I will try to find that soon! And a branch...that might be harder to find as I live in the desert...lol Do you think weeping moss would look good on the piece of wood on the left?

And Osama isn't wasn't in the tank yet in these pics...I think what you are looking at is my baby balloon molly

Alright so...please noooo comments on the banana plant in here...I know it looks funky...I just got it because my mom absolutely loved it and I thought it would be funny to get one for her I know that this tank looks very overgrown and random and heavily planted, but that was how I was planning this tank to be in the first place...My fifty gallon, however, when I set it up, will be more organized and not AS heavily planted...

Please any suggestions as to where I can maybe move some plants or decor around
