My sailfin molly spawned 7 fry overnight last night. Unfortunately I didn't have a hatchery so by the time I got home from work 3 had been sucked into the filter. On my way home I picked up a floating hatchery and some Liquifry No.2. I have isolated the 4 remaining fry in the hatchery (much to the interest of my other fish) and added a couple of drops of Liquifry. So, where do I go from here?

Is there anything I should watch for?
Anything I need to do daily?
How long do they stay in there for?

I'd be happy with any tips and advice I can get. Thanks in advance.

If you have molly fry, they are big enough at birth to easily eat flake food that you grind between your finger tips. The main thing you will need to watch for is that the water in their little container stays clean. Any food left a few minutes after you feed needs to be removed. A piece of air line tubing is a big enough siphon for that job. The fish stay in the trap until they can survive in the main tank. If all you have in the main tank is mollies, they will likely be big enough in 2 or 3 weeks. If you have more aggressive or larger fish, it could take longer to reach a point where they will be safe.

Thanks for that. My community tank doesn't have any aggressive fish at all but I'm going to leave them a few weeks to mature and grow. Just to clarify, are you suggesting I don't use Liquifry 2 to feed them but should crush up some flake food or should I alternate both foods?

I would use at least the #2 as far as particle size. I never buy the stuff but use a high protein food crushed up small enough for my livebearers to eat. In your position I think I would alternate because you have spent the money to buy the liquifry.

baby mollie fry r bigger than others and they should eat
crushed up food. but try and put them in the breeding tank
