And a big thank you to helterskelter for taking me! :flowers: I had a brilliant time! All these wonderful fish that I've only seen in books- and some that haven't even made it into the books. Those halfbeaks... Those wild guppies  And the ameca splendens that they were almost giving away at the end. And just to see so many fish in such great condition.

I got the neoheterandria elegans I've been after for a long time- and they are little beauties. But not easy to photograph, like a lot of these little poeciliids they are very fast movers. Also a trio of merry widows- possibly a little overindulgence there, getting another fertile and productive fish that I can't sell locally because the shops don't think they're pretty enough. But I like them.

And I got a tour of Gary's (fish48) fish room on the way - including the famous halfbeak drainpipe!- and it's great! All these beautiful goodeids! And he gave me some little gold heterandrias, which seem to be settling in happily. And a spare tank. Not that I'd dream of setting it up of course, after I promised the family I wouldn't, of course not, no really not (starts clearing a corner..... ) rolleyes:

I had a good day out. :D

awww sounds excellent, i've never yet been to a fish auction. i'd like to but i won't go now as we've nowhere to put any more fish

I sold 22 fish, as against the 12 I bought. Not that the tanks are looking any emptier- little buggers must have bred in the night. And let's forget about the endlers I got promised for after Easter.

Just please you enjoyed your self (even if we was a little late getting there).

Their was 4 of us from Bournemouth and Southampton who travelled to Corby in my little car :(, so being stuck in my car for 3 hours we was all very pleased to arrive at the venue and finely streach our leggs and get something to eat......

I know it was going to be a good day when at mid-nite I changed the clocks, thinking i was getting an extra hour sleep and rearlish is was loosing an hour!!!!!!!

I was the woken to my alarm on my phone only to then relise is was my friend asking where i was....i was already 30 mins late and had just woke up!!!!!

But lets say the dive was a little better with only going 15 miles in the wrong direction

How ever as DG already said we all got something a little special, and amazing amount of Characodon lateralis and C. audax as well as quality wild sword tails and mollys. This year their was very few unusually guppies but their was some moscow blues that sold for only £7.50 which is a bargin!!!!

I believe their was over 250 lots of livebearers sold that day and some amazing fish.

If you want something different then I will be posting more deatails of other shows and auction.

And thanks to Gary (Fish48) He got the fish he wanted though he could not attend this year, but thanks of weighing my car down with 3 tanks which we had no space for and resulted to being on The laps of the tired travellers......

And Neal I'll get the names of these new half beaks for you know your be intrested.
I believe their refered to as the redline halfbeak.

Click on your country, then state or nearby state to find clubs who run local auctions. Most clubs have a mini-auction at their meetings, this is a good place to get deals on fish, as well as meet up with local breeders.
