My First Crowntail w/ Pics

he is beautifyl no doubt B) but you make me laugh though - you ask us what you should name him, and then not even 60 seconds later you post again to say you've decided to name him Starbrite. That did not give us enough chance to respond  :p
Hope he settles in nicely though !
Hey I edited that later...I had a picture there and removed the picture and replaced it with an update with my decision on a name.... :fun: I guess it did look like I named him 60 secs after I asked...sorry :*) :*)

Maybe you guys can help ...he's not eating. SInce I brought him home 4 days ago, all he probably ate was 2 pellets. I've offered him brine shrimp, freeze dried bloodworms, bettamin flakes, HBH Betta Pellets, Hikari Biogold...but he would go up to the food look at it for a few seconds and swim away. He's acting very normal apart from eating. If he pulls something in his mouth, he chews for a little and then spits it back out. Any ideas? You think he's still getting settled in? He swims about, in and out of his cave, flares at the others but wont eat. Help!

Sounds like he's just getting settled in. He sounds healthy and otherwise happy to me. :)

He's still getting used to his new home. If he has even eaten a few pellets, he's doing fine. Sometimes they will go for a week before they will eat anything. :dunno:

I really hope he settles in soon...I'm not at ease going to bed each night after feeding and everyone ate but him. :(

I understand that. It's pretty nerve-wracking when they refuse to eat.

Just keep trying a variety of different foods. He'll eat when he's ready.

Maybe he just doesn't like what you're trying to give him now....

Did you try flakes? Sometimes Bettas get it in the stores and learn to like it.

I tried Bettamin Flakes, Freeze Dried bloodworms, Marinland Bio Blend, Tubiflex worms, HBH Betta pellets & Hikari Biogold...nothing -_-

Can you get your hands on any frozen foods? Have you tried offering him a thawed frozen pea?

I tried the pea but he just looked at it and turned away. Frozen foods I cant get a hold of until maybe this weekend. That might be too late.

My first crownie Ozzy didn't eat for 10 days after buying him! He turned his nose up at everything I offered him, even bloodworms. He did eventually eat but bloodworms and peas were his favourite.

Just keep offering food to him, I'm sending him positive vibes :flex:
