So I know to some of you, this is small fry, but this is the first time I've had a tank bigger then 20g.

I know it needs a backing and I will get around to that LOL, Occupants were MEANT to be an opaline gourami, an albino rainbow shark, a blue acara and an oscar. But the gourami and shark committed suicide overnight, and the occupants are now a blue acara, an oscar and a rainbow shark. I think I might pick up a kissing gourami later on to add. Everyone will be upgraded when the oscar hits 10 inch to a 125-150g tank.

The Tank (needs a backing, but otherwise, what do you think?)

looks pretty good... You going to put any plants in? or just keep it plain and simple? background would look cool! sorry about your fishies.

Keep it simple. The two cichlids would happily destroy most things LOL, no such thing as aesthetically pleasing in their world. Their is some java moss floating around, will see if they let it live LOL

I'm still dubious as to whether or not my neatly divided gravel/pebbles is going to stay like that LOL

Nice fish Tank looks very simple but works for your occupants. going to put blackk on, IMO would bring out colors of fish better. :good:

cool tank. But if you do sturdy plants or long plants like Vals or swords, your cichlids shouldn;t be able to mess it up too bad. Of a free floating top plant like pennywort that can survive planted or not! :hyper:

Nice tank and fish, not too sure as to how the others will fair if the oscar becomes the largest fish in the tank...

Aww I love oscars! Merlins very handsom. Nice tank! I know how you feel, my first big tank will be a 55 gallon tank too. I am getting it on the 15 of this month. :)

The O and the Acara will only have a couple of inches difference, and the shark will not be in the tank by the time Merlin gets to a size where he could eat him LOL.

Sigh, I somehow now have 3 clown loaches in there, guessing Mum being Mum decided some clown loaches would be just the thing. Their still babies, but now I need to work out how to rehome them blah.

Thanks for the comments
Emma

Nice simple setup; what sort of filtration are you running on it? I also doubt that the nicely arranged substrate will stay that way ;)

LOl Jayjay, yeah when they get bigger I'll probably lose it darn LOL. Currently two powerheads connected to filters are doing 1200 l/ph As the fish grow bigger I will upgrade the powerheads, I'm aiming at, at least a 10 x per hour turn over.
