If that is the case, why don't you add some floating plants to dim the light a little bit?How would i tie it tho?

Nope.. i dont use it at all only a few times for a min or so when checking fish's eggs.. When that article says "light" i have my room lights on nearly all day thats still light..
You need to make sure that lighting is as similar to natural light as possible; fluorescent lighting needs to be used. Flames and household light bulbs are no good; you need fluorescent lights which are to be replaced every eight months. The light needs to be the same intensity as the sun in the tropics. A normal house hold bulb isn't going to get that!
But if the fish freak when i put the lights on what's the point of having them on if all they do is hide,
