My Filters Dead!

i was cleaning the sand out in my 30g and doing a water change the water started getting low and so i unplugged my heater and filter
after i was done filling the tank up i plugged the heater in started working fine i plugged my filter back in and isnt working at all i dont know what i did i just unplugged it

mine does it sometimes it cuts out i normally leave it plugged in and usually 5 mins comes back on

i just cleaned it out and it works again
my other filter on my 15g doesnt do this so i was unsure if it completely died or will eventually come on again
