After wanting them for about 2 years I have finally got some. I;ve had ads on here and other web sites and a local shop I never use had them in

I bought two they are about 5 inches long, they were in freshwater in the shop and they are now in brackish in my tank

They are great to watch, and come to life as soon as food is in tank when they lurch around opening and shutting their mouthsto sift as much food in as poss. I can;t wait till they get bigger as they have bags of character

Their fins are a little damaged but now growing back ok, they eat anything, mysis, brine and flake

looks good! are they in you 150g?

no thats got my mates two Channa Aurantis in. He brought them round last night as hes moving and going away for 6 weeks. They;re about 12-14 inches long and a pair and came downstairs this morning to find both about 15 feet from the tank, luckily both still alive and a new improved top ontop of tank!!!

that was lucky!

are these 2 gonna become full marine?

I;d thought about it but they;re in quite high brackish and will probably stay that way, intriguing fish and I;ve had them 2 weeks plus now with no issues

They don't need marine conditions, or even particularly salty brackish water; SG 1.005-1.010 is fine. Kept that way they get along well with all sorts of things, and a popular combination is violet gobies with livebearers such as guppies or mollies. Surprisingly the gobies don't even eat the fry, so you get the best of both worlds: weirdness, plus bright colours.

Cheers, Neale

What do you feed them that they get so excited about? I have 3, that only come out at night, and they don't seem to be eating anything I put in the tank.

If i open the hood they both start opeining their mouths in a crazy fashion to catch food

I feed them brine, mysis and marine flake and they go crazy for any food

well my 2 dragon gobies are doing well and have filled out a fair bit. ones more dominant than the other but at night they are very active when foods in there

isn;t he cute!

They both make a good pair lol I was thinking of going same route with my rio but then convert to full saltwater conditions but my brother also wanted a pair of knight gobys so can't put them in full marine conditions.

anyone else keep the dragon gobies?
fantastic fish just been watching them again, waited so long to get these and they didn;t disappoint

ya, i searched forver and finally found some at walmart of all places. Got the only 2 in the tank that didnt look half dead.
They are cool little guys, i thought one died but he just dug a sand cave completely under one of my lava rocks so he was hidden. The other one chose a rock cave so i can see him more often. Right now they are at 1.004sg and seem to be fine.

My favorite thing is how they look as if they swim in reverse, as if you had a video of them, then pressed rewind. They pop thier heads and start to move around, then sometimes just undulate backwords and go in reverse(maybe they are just lazy lol)

they come out during feeding time, but i only catch them actually swimming actively at night.

Dragon fish looks good did not know they would do brackish water. I have decided to start a brackish tank never had one before. I want to do a 29 gal. since I have 90% of what I need laying around. What would be a good combination? I was thinking 2 Monos a puffer and a couple of gobies. All ideas are welcome.

I always thought dragon gobies were brackish only...

I haven't had problems with my puffer and the gobies there paths don;t ever cross

The monos are lovely and I;d like a shoal one day but they are too big for a 29g

What about knight gobies?
