Hi the tank is 48x15 x18 its a jewel tank of some kind

There are 5 in there except I have 2 who shy away and aren;t growing as well as they aren't eating as well. One of them was a stunner in the shop as well

Is there more chance of improving matters with a couple more?

The three who swim round a lot are coming on leaps and bounds ad are growing fast!

Tank is about 55 gallons. How often do you do water changes? You might be able to add one more as long as you are diligent with your water changes. Nothing really you can do about the others, you could try removing them and put them into a quarantine bare bottom tank, get them used to lots of movement (without any to hide behind) as while as bulk them up.

Sometimes nothing works. If you give Discus something to hide behind chances are they will.

I do at least one good water change on a weekend and if I get chance another one in the week I'm trying to change a bit more in this tank after reading posts about regula water changes in discus

I remember from keeping them 13 years ago that some succeed and others don;t fr whatever reason and that tits easier to buy bigger fish to start with

very nice, see i didnt know you had discus aswell.....was never really into them until i saw some huge one's yesterday just like your's

I have seen pictures of Discus 10-12 inches in height/length! Talk about huge!

I've still never seen this and im pretty sure there isnt a discus photo online that I have not seen. Can you post a link or something?

Not sure where my head was when I posted that, It should have read 8 inches. There has been accounts though, of Wayne Ng's Blue Knights reaching 11" though. I have seen some big Blue Knights, possibly over 8 inches, but no tape measure so can't be sure on size.

You can skip to page 13 to see a tank shot, but I recommend reading through the entire thread. It's very interesting.

i have never been too keen on discus, i saw a group of wild ones that were really good looking, near blackburn i think! my lfs had some massive ones in not too long ago, looked like the blue diamond ones but was about 9-10inch, biggest ones i've seen and was only £50! and he told me he could get more.
like i said im not right into discus or i would of snapped them up!
