My Current Cycle Picture Help

Hi All,
 
I have just taken a reading for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
 
The nitrite spiked 4th Feb and has since come down ( middle one)
 
The nitrate still seems kinda low to be honest ( orange one)

Ammonia level i believe is high because i put loads of fish flakes in during the first week and they are taking an age to rot now.
 
Ive put a bag of filter water (sponge squeeze) and also some established media about 4 days ago.
 
please could you advice as to why my nitrate has not shot up??

Did you bang that nitrate bottle against the table a few times, then shake it like a complete madman for at least 2 minutes? (can't remember if it's bottle 1 or 2. At work atm)

If not, that might be why the reading is looow.

yes for the nitrate bottle 2, i shook it for 30 seconds. then added 10 drops to test tube, then shook everything for just over a minute
