When I brought those two 3/4'' ocellaris clowns home I had never been so excited. I had always wanted a salt water tank and "nemo" fish were the only thing my daughter would except. It was so cute how they would swin up to the top of the tank at feeding time and look at me...ahhhh. Two years and an anemone later i can't adjust anything in our tank without being bombarded by tiny teeth, sharp tiny teeth :X . The female guards her anemone so well we added a mandarin with no problems because nothing can come near them without paying . Even the feather duster gets a nip when it waves too close.Just the other day things came to a head when she got so furious that we were feeding her host that she hurled herself at us with such force she couldnt stop and flew out of the tank. Marlin proptly put her back and she is fine and frisky as ever. I know they are supposed to be reef safe but mine get so ugly I would hardly call them reef friendly

Exactly the same as mine! My female is huge...about 3 inches. She has killed a mandarin fish as soon as it went into the tank. When i feed their anemone she attacks the shrimp who try and steal the food and she stops the male from taking the food too, which is a good thing. Whenever i try and rearrange any coral i get bitten and eve when feeding their anemone!
Yep, they can be aggressive things, but i love em :)

lol yeah you wouldnt expect such little fish to be so aggresive. I have kept chiclids before and they where all chilled out in comparission :)

If Im working in the tank mine always seems to wait until Im least expecting it before rushing out to try and take a chunk out my hand.

LOL yea I love mine too but they are being moved to a 55 and will be housed with other aggressive types in a fish only tank r

eather than shy gobies and corals that must be fed just an fyi for those newbies who are told that clowns are reef safe, again

safe does not mean friendly
