My choices for 135 gallon

Having recently switched to keeping mbuna, I'd certainly cast my vote for #3. I'd be happy to offer specific suggestions. There's a LOT you could do with 135g and mbuna. Barring you taking that particular plunge, I have to say that #1 is pretty dang good too.

Number One with the previous suggestion of changing the neons to cardinals that way you get still schooling effect. But a 130 gal with angels sounds like the way to go!

Cool tank!
I think cardinals would be just as readily consumed as neons, but you could try it.
I agree with catlover and would get a bigger tank (and shoal) if going the pirahna route.

Mbuna would be awesome or oddballs or option 1 or brackish oddballs
 all good choices, keep us informed.

I think I will probably go with the Community tank, this way I can get all or most of the fish I want without having to make another tank. But keep the suggestions coming!

One... but replace the neons with black phantom tetras - don't know whether they'd eat those but I think not.
Personaly, I'd make it a pearl gourami species tank or maybe have some cories and a bristlenose and some golden dwarf barbs in with them too...
Or I'd get a 200 gallon and get an osphronemus goramy...

at home, my family has one angel fish and 7 neons in a 25 gallon tank. a couple were eaten when first introduced to the tank, but they were also very small at the time. now the neons know better and are a bit large so the angel fish doesn't even look at them anymore. point is, try the neons, if it doesn't work out then your angels got an expensive snack but it could work out just fine if you make sure they have lots of hiding spots
