I posted a thread a bit earlier about my doubts whether my bristlenose had white spots or not....I didn't think it was and in hindsight I don't think it is..

I just went to check the tank, when I turned on the lights, it was floating around the filter!! I was shocked to see it dead as I thought they were one of the hardier fishes around!

Whats more ironic is that out of all the fishes, this one looked by far the healthiest and when I last checked it a few hours ago, it looked absolutely fine and showed no signs of stress or illness..I thought I was getting back on track with the cycling and now I'm not sure what to do, after this loss...

I can't think of why it died or what could have killed it....I just got over the stage where I kept losing fish and now I've lost yet another one.

Sorry about the complaining tone....but I honestly don't want to lost any more fish and I am still gobsmacked as to how this one died.

I've been monitoring and testing the water for the past few days like a hawk! Any ideas why the bristlenose died or anyone else with a similar experience before?

So sorry to hear about your Bristle nose, we had a problem cycling too and lost a quite few lovely fish, I learned on here that cycling (and problems like mini cycling after fish are added) can cause all sorts of problems that dont show for a while. Sorry cant be more help. :(

Thank you Wanda, no need to be sorry at all....its just hard to be optimistic when you lose so many fishes at the start. I still have one bristlenose cat left and hopefully he'll get through the cycling process which is nearing its end.

Btw, I like the combination of fishes in your tank! Hopefully I can start adding fish (without them dying) in the not so distant future! :)

Cheers!

You should be able too soon. I prefer cycling it without fish just for that reason. I have had many bad experiences :-(
