My Betta

so i have this male betta named bubba. He is a lil fatty when it comes to eating but i sometimes skipped a day. he is in like a lil 1 gallon tank. He swims alot and i am not sure if he is happy being by himself. I want to put another fish in there but i am not sure how he would react. I am kinda scared in what would happen

in a 1 gal the betta is your limit, ideally if you want tankmates you need atleast a 10 gal

ok. because he looks so sad sometimes and i see him looking at the other tank. but what kind of fishes are good tankmates for bettas? He is my first betta and the first fish i had before the platy and mollies.

If he were in a bigger tank then a good tankmate would be pygmy corys (mid swimming) or corys,- if you have enough space. They like to be in a min group of 6 . I have platys and mollies in with my bettas,- but they are in a much larger tank. Never had any problems

oh ok cuz i have a 26 gal tank and i was only using that for tropical fish like mollies and platys. i was afraid to put him in there. but thanks i will look into that!!

Sorry I'm useless with gallons lol. My community tank is 260 litres. I have both male and female bettas in with platys and mollys so I'm sure that you will be just fine!

Shorter finned males tend to do best in larger tanks as they can cope better with the high current. I have a short finned (PK) male in a 30Gal with, swordtails, tetras, cories, plecos a Ram
