So I thought I'd just upload some photos of my new girls in their 60 ltr tank and my new boy in his 26 ltr.

I recently bought 6 new girls to go in with my existing female Freya. They're between 3-5 months old, and so far have flared at each other but not fought (fingers crossed it'll stay that way). Some of them are a bit scruffy looking (ordered them online and they came with no heat pad and the water was freezing so I'm wondering if that could have given their immune systems a bit of a shock?), but I'm hoping with some clean water and tlc that they'll be ok.

Some of the photo's are a bit blury, my bf did his best though XD They just wouldn't stay still long enough.

Some full tank shots:

Some individual fish (couldn't get them all):

Aurora.jpg

Aurora- Is it just me or does she look a little bloated? Hadn't noticed this until this picture was taken.

8.jpg

Not sure who this is because it's not very clear.

7.jpg

Eir

6.jpg

Not sure, but I think it's Atla.

5.jpg

Steak, the female guppy (Keeping an eye on her, but so far she's not being bullied/doing any bullying)

Freya.jpg

Freya, my oldest and largest female <3

That's all of the pictures of the girls that came out decent. Will try to get some of the others another day.
I think they're probably all your regular VT's, but if anyone has any idea what type they are could you let me know please? :)

My new copper Plakat male, Tyr <3 <3

The light in his tank isn't working at the moment but the pictures came out ok I think?

You can see his colouring best in this one methinks.

His whole tank.

He's such a pretty lad

Please let me know what you think? :3
Sorry for the novel of a post, and thanks for looking if you made it all the way down here ^^

I love your tanks, very healthy and active!

I'd keep an eye on the girls being young, give it another 5weeks and the scuffs may pick up but that will be to do with the girls maturing.

Your male is stunning!

Very Similiar to my tank, abit better than mine to. I love your male.

Thank you very much guys ^^' Really appreciate the feedback. Taken a long, long time, but I'm finally happy with that set up.

I've just won a real bargain on ebay- Juwel Rio 180 complete with stand and all equipment and an external filter, (for £102.1 :hyper: !) so they will be getting an upgrade pretty soon :D Will be my first proper attempt at aquascaping, and I'm hoping that more space will help with any future aggression too.
I was wondering if people would be willing to give the thumbs up/down for my planned stocking?

What I have so far:
7 female betta
1 female guppy (may be moved to a different tank)
2 albino sterbai cory (got them when they were tiny, never knew they would get so big as they were only labelled as albino cory).
1 adolfi cory
2 pepper cory

What I would like in addition:

5 more adolfi
3 more pepper cory
3 more sterbai cory
6 oto's
2 Pearl Gourami
Small group of Clown Killifish

Already got the thumbs up from Mew Mew, but she reckoned I should ask a few more people :)

Cheers!

I would avoid the killis with bettas, the sterbai, add 3 more to make 4, so you have 4 of each cory and they'll be fine.

I see no problem with your stocking suggestion Flute. be careful about the pearl gouramis since males can be a bit territorial. A mixed sex pair or two females would be better than two males. Don't forget how big a pearl can grow, small fish in a tank with them will not last forever without being eaten.

Thanks guys :3

Beth: Heard some people have been successful with female betta and killies, but I wont add anything until all the girls are matured and have sorted out their order. Obviously I don't want anything to be too hurt, so if they don't settle down then I wont be adding clown killies. I already have 2 albino Sterbai, so I'll get another 4 (normal coloured) to make a group of 6 :) They're so pretty ^^ I think finding Adolfi in my area is going to be difficult >.<

OldMan47: Thanks for the thumbs up :D I was thinking of two female Pearls tbh- I don't want any breeding pairs, and definitely don't want the aggression brought on by breeding :) I don't think I'll be adding any smallish fish to this tank- no tetra, etc. So hopefully nothing will be eaten?

I keep 3 male killis in with my 5 female bettas and have no issues whatsoever the only issues the bettas have are with themselves

Thanks for that Betta Fish :) It's really good to hear more stories of this kind of set up being successful. I'm still going to wait a while to see what kind of temperaments my girls are, but fingers crossed it'll be ok.

Does anyone think I could get away with any more fish with that stock list for my 180 ltr? I'm really interested in getting one of the smaller types of plecs (love the way they look XD ) or catfish, or would that be pushing it?

Thank you very much  Tyr will be going into the girls old tank (the 60ltr) soon, which will be split, and I'll eventually get another male. Picking up the new 180 ltr on Sunday :D
