Actually the back three panels of the tank are mirrored. So yes, there is a reflectionThere is not a reflection in the glass that fish can see. they can actually see out of the tank. the only reason you see a reflection is because of refraction.
Thank you. I actually rescued him from the small jars at the petstore. I looked at every betta that they had. He was in full flare the whole time I was looking at him.Fade is lovely, reminds me of my partners betta Bob, he flares at himself all the time and 'prances' around the tank in full flare![]()
we are thinking about removing the mirror. I bought the tank second hand so there are places on the tank where the mirror is peeling off. We just aren't sure how to do it, and that would possibly involve disturbing the tank as it is up against the wall. Any ideas?oh sorry.
Fade is our second betta. I have one in my bedroom that is really calm and docile so he is nice to watch when I am laying down for bed. Very calming little guy.aww i love it when they do that, i had 1 that flared everytime i went to walk away so of course he came home with methe guy was like why won't you move from that 1 tank

He's handsome indeedy!!!
I think the mirror backing will be ok as long he's not constantly flaring at himself. Too much will stress him out thinking there is another male about to encroach onto his territory. IMHumbleO

When he was in that tank, he would flare at himself occasionally. But he is no longer in that tank. I took him out when the other fish started bullyin him. He is now in his own tank. I worry that the other fish harassing him stressed him out to the point where he has Ich. He is doing well now though, although he is still kinda not himself.

Ahh I see, didn't realise you had removed him from that tank. I take it the water tests are ok, temp is ok, he has lots of plants and a cave perhaps to hide/rest in?
