Plants + "Upper jaw" Polypterus such as Delhezis would look awesome.

Its a shame right? :-( seems like all the big fish like to snack on them, cant we teach them like dogs  bad fish!

Seriously though, guppies, 125Gal, come on! How many you gonna put in? 100-200?

What other fishdo you like? Im sure we can work something out ;)

lol well I currently have a pleco and was planning on getting a few kuhli loach's, then was thinking that would be pretty much it for bottom dwellers.

I also like the red tail sharks and clown loaches + Mollys, Platy etc

TBH I like most fish hence the reason I don't really know what I want going in here. If I had to get rid of the guppies then I suppose I could, the 100L is going though as soon as the new one is all set up :)

If you can give me a few suggestions of fish that are ok together then that would be great, seems to take ages trying to read up on what fish are compatible together lol

You're correct mate, a big tank don't always mean you have to have big fish... but that said, i still would

just to throw a spanner in the works that woukld make an awesome malawi display tank . the colours you could get in there wouild be amazing :hey:

Haha this is a laugh. Um its hard to suggest because theres so many... Personally i like dwarf cichlids, most new world cichlids, cories, big schoals...

Theres just too many to name.

Might look cool as a rainbow tank too

Yeah I really like the height of the short stand BUT I have just realised that the external filter wont fit under it standing up now LOL *Facepalm* I don't suppose you can run them lying down can you?

Anyway, just finished painting the top strip black to match.

On the fish front I don't really want to go down the road of cichlids, I wouldn't mind a pair of something in the tank maybe kribs or rams if they are suitable but not a cichlid based tank.

Kribs or Rams pair would be good. Or Keyholes :good:.

I don't think you can have it lay down lol. Can you put it at the side of the stand so it's out the way on the left hand side but at the back? Then put a pot of flowers or something in front to hide it .

Well I am just in the process of draining the tank so that I can move it over for the filter to fit down the side of the cabinet. Been waiting about an hour and its only a third empty..

Finished painting the top though! :D

Looks nice!

Surely you need to invest in a bigger hose if its taking that long! :D

 I was going to say, I wondered how you were going to fit an external filter underneath it

I reckon Malwais would be a good choice in here too.

Very nice tank. would look nice with some long vallis spiralis, java fern, Annuabis 'nana' sand base and plenty of wood stocked with cichlids and rams i think. Just my idea of what i would do.

Keep us updated :good:

Just ordered one of these:

All the wood is sat in the bath having a soothing soak :D

The new heater came and is sat heating the tank now and the plants I ordered have arrived too! Will probably stick the wood in after tea, don't want the wood using my bath for the next 6 months so as long as it sinks!

All coming together nicely. You might be lucky with the wood, when its a big tank the tannins dont always take effect and are pretty diluted
