I'm just really pleased with the look of my main tank at the moment, which is the centrepiece of my living room. So I thought I'd put up a pic of it for your perusal.

Stock is ....

2 x Uaru
3 x severums
2 x Acarichthys heckelii
2 x Brochi splendens
neon tetras
red eye tetras
oto's

Filtration is via Eheim 2217 & 2215.

All plants are silk or plastic as no living plants would survive the attention of Uaru. In fact I'm not convinced the silk ones are going to look pristine for too long, as they are having a good go at them !

Got a new 500 litre tank arriving in a few weeks, which this stock (and most of the decor) will go into.

THanks for your comments !

I like it! Really like the thick plastic plants at the back. :good:

Yeah, they are new for me ... are actually silk vivarium plants, which attach with a sucker to tthe glass. Completely aquarium safe (and even vaguely Uaru-resistant !!).

The plants looks familiar

Lovely tank :) Just wondered if you added all your Sevs at the same time, or did you stagger them? My green is only 1.5" at the moment, so thinking it's better to add another sooner rather than later, if I do :)

Added the larger ones about 2-3 weeks apart.

If you want to add another, I would do it sooner rather than later. Also get one slightly bigger than your current one. That should hopefully smooth it's introduction as much as poss.
Sevs are addictive aren't they !

The 3rd sev in there (Edwin) is by far the smallest, and was the first cichlid in the tank. He was definately the runt of the litter, and seems stuck at 2". I've had him for many, many months and he hasn't grown at all. He really doesn't eat much. I was very suspicious that he had intestinal parasites but am now convinced that he is just the most amazingly fussy eater ! He seems happy enough though. Everyone else in there pretty much ignores him, as he is no threat.

nice look but i
think i am going to head down the real
plant rout one thing you cant do with uarus
i put a pair in a planted tank once it was like
watching a swarm of locusts mind you i think they enjoyed it
but the tank looks spot on

I can imagine the scene. They are nothing if not enthusiastic when filling their bellies !

Looks amazing :) i love the choice of fish, i saw some of those thick plastic plants at the back in my lfs, i wondered what it would be like in my 90 litre, as i dont want a background but need something to cover the wires behind the back panel :p do they take up much depth or are they quite flat?

what really strikes me with this tank is how clean and well maintained it looks. :good: love the uarus and sev. also i love the piece of wood on the right really interesting twisty shaped piece .

I love the tall wood. I wish I could find some like that. It all looks good. Are you growing weed in your tank a little hydroponics haha? :shifty:
