Thank you, the rocks are landscape or mini landscape rocks I can't remember which I ordered from AE, no doubt Richard will know.
They're good though, the one's I used are also the ones I thought would be the most unusable.

thanks

they look bigger than i thought (which is a good thing)

can you remember how many kg you orderd?

thanks

chris
erm 12kg, I've still got about 9 stones left, they're hefty but there also quiet big. I smashed one of the largest ones to get the smaller stones you see in the scape.

Nice scape garuf.
Just a pointer with the rocks. The rock on the far right is just a bit too bold and ruins the nice flow you have. If it was 1/3 to 1/2 of the size so that the rock was no longer than the lower branch it's just beneath, it would be a lot better IMO. Up to you ofcourse though.

No I agree entirely, the only problem was that no other rocks fitted, all being either too long or high, which of course meant the rock in use was the only suitable one.
I'll look into smashing up a rock to see how it does, thanks for the tip. :)

Since switching over to the drainpipe luminair I seem to be having problems lighting the tank, any ideas? Everything just seems to be doing "less" and it all seems really dark.

RESCAPED

It's a mess but its a start and will grow out, I can't wait to start seeing Bolbitis shoots popping through.
Hope you all like it, as always creative criticism always welcomed.

Those awaiting anubias, I will post them on Wednesday.

I'm using the landscape rocks from Aqua Essentials, I understand its out of stock now though.
It's the same stuff you find sold for Banzai tree's.

Ah the rocks ive been waiting to come back in stock although they told me they hope to get hold of some more in February.

Really like them!!

I've no end left over, I bought 25kg expecting them to be super heavy, they just weren't.
The left overs I plan to make a nano Iwagumi to make use of them. (Look out for a new journal soon).

And then it all went bad, while doing maintenance I dropped a stone into the tank, I hear running water and panic, my lily pipes are still intact something else is leaking. Everything is fine so I hope for the best and dig into the substrate.

After finally getting enough water and Aquasoil out I discovered the tank was cracked (I've sealed it and refilled it now). Here is the aftermath.

The water cleared enough to see the damage done, water still not totally clear, fish still not in the tank. I appear to need more substrate, where its gone I don't know, everything looks beaten up, washed out and generally a bit rubbish.

All my plants too a beating from being out all night, especially the stems, shame they'd only really just taken off. I might replace them with something else, something healthier.

This is the only area I like about the new scape, I'll be planting some Hc running into the hair grass. I don't know if it will work or not but then I'm so disheartened by this whole fiasco I'm shocked anything good has come out of it. Planting the hairgrass was difficult, no end of times it came unplanted, It looks a eye sore as soon as you notice the lack of skill in planting.

Anyone want to step in and tell me where I can improve or donate a grand bunch of stems of something nice?
This hole affair has made me wonder why I didn't give up.

Oh man thats crap, I've nearly done that a few times with rocks!

The rescape looks to be your best yet Gareth. If it develops as well as its started it will be a superb scape. Not sure if you put it all back the way you had it but my only comment would be the two pieces of wood on the left, they are in too similar a direction, if you can tilt the top of the front branch to the left that should sort it :)
