Mussel In Shell

i bought some mussels in shells from my lfs earleir today for my puffers teeth, any way the only way i have forund how to open them is to break a little bit open with a little toffee breaker hammer any other ideas how to open them???

put the mussels in hot water for a few minutes - then they will start to open, or...........last resort use a nut cracker. good luck
