Hi all, I bought a couple of new bettas a few months back, one was in an all female tank but was clearly male and the female was very beautiful and seemed really cheeky so I had to have her lol, she had a touch of mustard gas about her and even some crowntail, then when I saw the male in a separate shop I couldn't believe how similar he was to her they could pass as brother or sister

I decided to breed them around a month ago as I am interested to see how their fry turn out, I think dad may be a plakat hence why he got mixed in with the females, I now have a few month old fry that I am getting ready to jar soon so I can increase their growth rate

will post here when I can get decent pictures of how they have turned out.

They are beautiful! Can't wait to see what the babies look like :)

Also I couldn't help but laugh at your signature, that might have described my first few bettas (back before I knew better) but it definetly doesn't describe my current female! I think the only time she isn't moving is when she's asleep xD

He he! thanks :) yes I couldn't resist adding that as my signature when I remembered what somebody had said on here once in response to us betta lovers lol! :) the fry are doing well, I haven't jarred them yet think I'll let them get a bit bigger, I think I have somewhere in the region of 10-15 which is a nice small batch to handle as dad ate alot of the eggs before they hatched but for a first time dad he did well and cared for the fry well when they hatched.

That is a very nice looking PK male.  Female looks nice too but can't really tell what she "is" with that picture since she is being so active in it.  LOL  Always moving snots, I have lots of them.  LOL    Fry should look nice with this pair.  10-15 is a nice spawn to start with since you can devote more time to them individually once you start jarring them.  Dad might have eaten the eggs because they were not fertile which does happen especially with first time spawns because of poor wraps so I wouldn't expect him to be an egg eater unless he keeps doing it.

Can't wait to see pics of the "kids" once you are able to get some.  :D
