you will eggs to hatch, the last spawn i had the male had to be taken out before the fry hatched and iv got atleast 20 happy healthy fry possibly more.

Oh thank you. That makes me feel so much better. I will check them when I get home from work. If they are going to hatch, I would assume that by tonight they should.

The eggs were spoiled when I got home last night. I am going to concentrate on the second pair. If I get any babies, I will most likely put them up for "adoption" when they are big enough.

are you sure they are spoiled? It has taken mine 2 1/2 days to hatch before.

Awww, so sorry to hear that Tell me when you get some new eggs though, I would also be interested in adopting anything that came from such a beautiful father!! Hang on to that guy, he's special!

My second pair spawned today and they are still at it. I will definitely let everyone know when I get fry big enough for adoption. I am hoping I can keep them alive!!

I think I've got another egg eater. I am just about to completely give up on spawning. This morning I couldn't really see anything in th bubble nest and he was sitting all the way on the other side of the tank. Just sitting in the corner, sulking. I hope when I get home tonight I can see some tails or something otherwise they were eaten again.

i am so sorry to hear that but iv herd that some males do that especially if they are first time breeders. recondition them and try again.this time if you werent already doing so continue to feed him pellets, leave a light on at all times, and try to avoid watching him constantly. otherwise if he starts munching pull him asap and try putting small doses of anti fungal meds and posibly even a bit if salt in the tank with the fry it will raise the odds of fry hatching by quite a bit more than just plain water. another possibility is that ther was something wrong with the eggs and you didnt notice(infertile or fungused) you could also try a pair that have been bred atleast once before with a sucessful spawn.
