Hi I need a bit of advice, I have a 240 litre tank (plenty big) and in it I have 1 Clown Loach, 4 large tinfoil barbs, 2 pictus cats, I plec, and two Golden Severums. The smaller Severum is fine the other, slightly larger is a nightmare, he picks on the other Severum constantly but leaves everything else alone. I bought 4 good sized sail fin molly’s today and the monster has mauled them all ready, ripping all the fins.

Can I do anything to calm it down? It’s a lovely looking fish but I can’t have it bullying everything like this…

Sadly all you can do is rehome him, as for the clown loaches the tank to small for him, plus they should never be kept on there own as they are shoaling fish and he won't be happy at all on his own.

I was afraid of that, i thought maybe if i got a few other Serverum`s; mayb female, it may calm down. But i`s too much of a risk.

Also all four Molly`s are now dead, he picked on them one after the other.

Interesting that you say the tank is too small, it`s 240 litre, 150cm/50cm/60cm, its rather large and well under stocked at this time, however i will be adding more loach. I recently lost two in a move.

Ok, good luck.

Hi

You may have 2 male Severums, the larger one would then pick on the smaller male. See if you can get the little guy swapped for a female at you LFS.
