Moving To A Bigger Tank

I have 3 baby (1.25 inches) Zebra Plecos in a 35 litre tank and I want to move them to a 95 litre tank. Now the new tank will need a bigger filter, but can I just move them into the bigger tank with the new filter and put in the old filter as well and it remain cycled? The bigger filter will gradually cycle itself. The smaller filter is clearly coping with the bio load, which isn't very much so the second bigger filter is no better than a power head would be.

Will this work ok?

I would think that it would be ok since the bio load will be the same, but seeing how there will be more water I dont know if that will make a difference or not. I'm curious to see what others will say about this situation

Im no expert but I had 2 filters in my 20 gallon before, marineland 280 and fluval U3, I just transfered the filters and all my fish to my 50gallon when I upgraded and they've been there for over couple months now and doing good.

I didn't add more fish til after couple weeks just to be safe, wait for other responses though.

If it was 2 existing filters then I know there wouldn't be a problem. I'm just concernes that the bigger filter will clearly be the one that takes the majority of water through it, it's whether the smaller filter will still eventually circulate the tank water as well - does that make sense?

Actually my marineland 280 was in my 20gallon for 3 months then I added the Fluval U3 after. A month later I transfered them both to my new 50gallon. My fish are doing fine, they're already there for almost 3 months. They're very active, no diseases nor deaths.
I was adviced to check the water stats though for the 1st week, but it was fine. Good Luck.

you will be fine using the same filter. just make sure you use as much of the old tank water as you can when you make the switch so that both the fish and the filter will register it as a water change. as long as you arent adding a whole bunch more fish, the amount of waste produced will be the same and given the larger amount of water, less harmful for a longer period of time. Smaller tanks are actually much harder to maintain due to the small amount of space they have for ammonia and such. hope the switch goes well. Good luck

EDIT: i guess i missed a bit...sorry lol. but adding that new filter will eventually end up with a cycled filter. ive done that, when i upgraded filtration on my 55 gal.
