USA,
I kinda want to get some other fish, diffrent kinds. Not sure what kind I want though. Was thinking like a ram or something, but dont think that would work because of my corries.

So I have a $2 off coupon at petco and was thinking of getting a bigger home for my betta. I wanted to get a critter keeper, like a 2 or 5 gallon one, and wated to move some fish into there,

What I wanted to do was move my platties and 1 guupy into it and then put the female betta in therem giving the plakat her one gallon critter keeper.

Would that be okay to do? I have all the needed things for it.

I typed in the measurments for the 5 gallon one on a converter and it said that there could be 12 invhes of fish in there.

How many platties? I tend to under stock, but with livebearers, smaller tanks often result in overstocking in short order, so I wouldn't put them in a 5 gallon tank unless you will be removing any fry, or have one gender only. Even then, I wouldn't have 12 inches of fish--max for me would be 2-3 platties, and maybe one small bottom dweller. Or just the single betta and 3-4 pygmy cories. I have 4 cherry barbs in a 5 right now, and am seriously thinking of removing one.

Otherwise, moving water from the existing tank doesn't help much--the beneficial bacteria in a tank are not free floating in the water column. Squeezings from the existing filter media, plants, decorations, or gravel will be much better at introducing the bacteria to your new setup.

yeah i know that, lol.

3 platties, and I do have a fry tank.

1m and 2f's. But I minght just leave the guy in the 15.

So 2 females, one guppy, and a female betta? That should work, but you'll want to keep on the changes, and need to watch for aggression--female bettas can be just as nasty as males, especially to male guppies or fish of a similar body shape.

Oh, and cories and rams will get along fine--unless you are planning on breeding the rams. Cories will eat the eggs. Otherwise, they are compatible.

oh, i always herd that they did good together.

I did though once have a male betta that lived with a guppy for like 2 months, but I got a molly and had to break them up. They both died after though..

but wouldnt that overstock the bottem of the tank?
