Moving Fish Into A Larger Tank

Hi

I have brought a 4 ft tank for my fish. They are currently in a 3 ft tank.

I need to know the best way to tranfer the fish from one tank to the other.

The new tank has a new filter so how do I go about setting that up so it has the correct bacteria level etc.

Any advice or tips will be greatfully recieved.

fill it up and dechlor (obviously). stick the filter from the 3ft in the 4ft and add your fish.


either that or take some filter media out the 3ft filter and put it in the new filter.




all the good bacteria you need is in the filter media so aslong as you have some of that in the new tanks filter (or the old filter running in the new tank) then you have everything you need.



id leave the old filter in the tank (if thats how you do it) for about 3 weeks to let the new filter get established.



either way you do it, id wait a couple of weeks before adding anything else aswell.
