Moving Fish Between Tanks

Guys

I dont have any bags to hang the fish in the water for 20mins etc. What is the best way to move my fish across from my old tank to my new tank sat opposite it? Can i just drop them in using the net or will it kill them?

If you have used some of the water from the other tank to fill it up and there both within a degrees of 2 of of each other then i think it would be fine just to net the out i tank and add them straight to the other.

Do you have a test kit available to check ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH? I would think as long as the stats between the tanks match up (and temp is close), then they would do fine by netting and moving.

if the tanks are both filled using the same water source then just net them and move them as long as the temps are matched so will the water parameters. i have been doing alot of this at the minute due to bully fish

Both same source of water and both heated by my room as it is warmer than the heaters, shall net them slowly

If the fish are small enough, you could float them in an ice cream/margarine tub,

they will be fine then.

im a bit worried about your room heating the tanks and not a heater as room temp can fluctuate quite a lot especially in winter with heating coming on and off at different times of the day etc

Have you not got a "fish only" bucket you can use, adding about 25% of their current tank water to it, then drip-feeding or ~20ml every 15 minutes for 45-60 minutes?

Without knowing what species you are moving, netting them and placing straight into new water can cause major stress...

There are heaters in there too

just chuck them over, i do it nearly daily with babies.
