So yesterday my fiancé and I moved my fish tank from my parents house to our house. Everything went fine and they are in working condition except now most of the fish are spooked every time I go up to the tank. All of them except for the angel fish and apisotograma (sp?) the others are Rosy Barbs, five small loaches, oto cats.

Not sure if it has to do with the fact that my finance’s cat jumps up on the on the side of the tank....I'm thinking he is the cause otherwise I could be it is a new surroundings that they could see today but not yesterday as the take was cloudy with debris.

what is your suspicions?

Give them a couple days I'm sure they'll be fine. I bet the move stressed them out a bit.

Yep, seems a new fish/post move behavior to me. I just got a platy yesterday and she is doing exactly the same as your fish.

Usually the case when they are stressed in my experience.

I recomend keeping the lighting off for a couple of days and scale back the feeding, as if fish are stressed they tend not to eat, and therefore your going to have alot of left over food, and excess waste.

So in summary:

Do not use the aquarium lights for 24-48 hours (don't worry they will be fine)
Do not feed for 24 hours
Maybe consider dosing the tank to boost slime coat levels (Stress coat 10mls per 40 mls helps this)

Edit:
I wouldnt consider adding any fish either for the next couple of weeks, in case you was thinking of that
